Meet the AI Agents:
Purchase Order Follow-Up
Finds purchase orders that are due with no dock appointment, or with a booking that won’t arrive in time, and gets the supplier or carrier to ship, book or rebook before stock runs short.
Nine POs are due with no appointment
Nine POs due this week have no dock appointment.
PO Follow-Up · Inbound DC-04
What just happened
Nine purchase orders were due with no truck booked, and two booked loads were running late. Loadsmart AI found them before the receiving window, got suppliers and carriers to book, rebooked the late loads, and gave the buyer a short list of the two still open.
Unanswered POs go to the buyer.
The agent follows up with suppliers and carriers on its own. When one doesn’t respond, the PO goes on the buyer’s daily at-risk list with every follow-up logged.
Matches every PO to a booking, and chases the ones without one.
01
Matches POs to bookings
Pulls open POs and due dates from your ERP or WMS and checks Opendock for an appointment that carries each PO number. Opendock is the appointment source, not the PO source.
02
Spots the loads that won’t make it
Uses your visibility provider’s tracking, or Loadsmart’s for loads Loadsmart moves, to find booked loads whose ETA lands after the slot or the due date.
03
Contacts the right party
Asks the supplier to release the order, or the carrier to book, ship or rebook. Rebooking uses the next valid slot and follows your approval levels.
04
Keeps the buyer informed
Sends a daily list of POs still at risk, with what was done on each.
What your team stops doing. And what that’s worth.
Fewer surprises at receiving
Missing deliveries are found days ahead, while there is still time to book them.
Every open PO gets followed up
Suppliers and carriers hear from the agent every day, on every PO, including the small ones.
Stock arrives when it’s needed
Inbound freight lands on the date the PO calls for.
Nothing to rip out. Nothing to migrate.
Your existing systems stay your system of record. Loadsmart becomes your system of action — the work runs on the Loadsmart Platform and the outcome is written back where your team already looks for it. This depends on PO numbers being entered in an Opendock reference field, ideally required at booking. Without them the agent would report missing appointments that exist.
Ten more agents running the same way.
Loadsmart AI is eleven specialized agents working the freight lifecycle end to end. If none of the eleven match what is slowing your team down, describe the task and Loadsmart will build the agent to run it.
